From the Senate

I just received this notice from my Faculty Senator, a statement passed at yesterday's Senate meeting. It's time for the rest of the faculty to support the Senate on this matter. Wear black on Monday and Tuesday during the on-campus "interviews" of the Trustee's two candidates to show that your voice was not heard in the presidential search process and that the process should be re-opened.

FACULTY SENATE STATEMENT REGARDING
THE PRESIDENTIAL SEARCH PROCESS

The Faculty Senate of Chicago State University expresses by this letter its grave concern regarding the process and conduct of the Board of Trustees in the search for a new university president. Contrary to the protestations of board members about the openness of the process, this body is unsatisfied with the transparency of the search process and consequently the candidates garnered therefrom.

The Senate files this letter as an official statement prior to the selection of the president with the expectation that the Board of Trustees will reopen the search process with collaboration and consultation of the university community.
