Some supplemental information about the presidential finalist who will appear on campus tomorrow:
During Dennis Shields' tenure at UW-Platteville, the contributions to the university foundation increased from $1.88 million in fiscal 2011 to $6.6 million in fiscal 2014.
From fiscal 2010 to fiscal 2014, the university foundation's endowment increased from $9 million to $14.8 million.
This information comes from IRS-990 forms filed by the UW-Platteville Foundation.
Holy fund raising expertise Batman! The only downside for Mr. Shields to replicate this at CSU is the absence of a functioning Foundation. Thanks BOT!
ReplyDeleteWhat is this word? Endowment..is that Latin?
ReplyDeleteKimble - how much have you ever given to the school?
ReplyDeleteI'll stop here and listen to the crickets.
If you must know, I have only given about $500.00 to CSU. Most of my charitable giving goes to my alma mater and other boards I sit on. But, that's not really the issues. My job is to teach, do research, and do community service. I do all aspects of my job. If part of the president's job description is to raise money for the school, i am sure he can't make the same assertion.
ReplyDeleteI've really enjoyed reading this article, you've included some great fundraising tips and information. I have recently discovered the great work that Listen Call Centre do, you should check them out!
