The Chicago State Faculty Senate is Recognized Again

I just received this a few minutes ago. It speaks for itself. I note, however, that unlike the earlier communications about this issue, this one was not sent to the entire faculty.

  3. Holy backpedaling change of direction Batman. Do you think it was the demand to bargain or the grievance or maybe my complaint with the Attorney General's office that led to this sudden course correction. Does anyone in the regime bother to read the contract or think about the consequences or implications of their ill conceived actions. Unfortunately, the damage has been done and our national laughingstock status remains intact. Thanks Wayne!

  4. Indeed! Rauner's Trustees will be different! That's the only way change is going to happen! Quinn let the school falter, perhaps there will be some improvement in leadership.

  5. It is good that the persistent struggle of those who have been resisting these attacks on students, faculty, and other campus workers has been rewarded. In my view the main victory is the struggle itself.
Two further comments: I hope this will encourage those who see that what the Watson administration is doing is wrong but have been silent so that they will step forward and help to lead this struggle. While Rauner trustees would undoubtedly be different, we should not assume that they would be better; the Democrats are racist, seeing working class black people as things to be used for their political purposes, but are the Republicans likely to be better?
