Trying to fire you and Phillip of course. Defending themselves and Li’l Baldy from charges of incompetence and retaliation. I do not doubt for a second that much effort is being expended on undermining Dr. Calhoun. It’s the only professional behavior they know.

It’s hard to see, even with this little gang of incompetents, why more hasn’t been done or planned in the face months of watching the train come thundering down the track. Have the HR directors of Illinois’ public colleges and Universities met in order to develop coherent policies concerning unemployment and health insurance in the face of the current crisis? Has “Dr.” Mitchell reached out? Has Miss Angie done the same among the state provosts? I understand that these two might feel woefully out of their league professionally in such arenas, but crisis demands a little sacrifice of personal delusion.

Speaking of Miss Angie, surely there have been meetings with faculty around how to shelter core programs. Surely there are discussions of ways to look at program requirements in key areas that can streamline the time to degrees without sacrificing program strength. Is there a small core of programs and majors that can be incubated for better days in the future? As the Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs, Miss Angie could be meeting with her peers at the other universities, perhaps seeking ways for CSU students to attend classes at another university whose economic crisis is less immanent. Of course she’d have to have a good and respectful relationship with other academic administrators in the state, which I doubt she has.

It’s been hard to watch the open maleficence of the Watson team over the years. It’s harder to watch the university go down because these people have nothing but their insecure hold on a little power, their inadequate professional abilities, and their hopes to duck any responsibility for their utter failure to do their jobs. There really isn’t anything else inside those suits, just hot air and flatulence.

R. Wayne Watson may be running a shadow presidency through his minions who remain in high administrative office.

The two elephants in the room: board members Anthony Young and Nikki Zollar need to be named in the scenario you describe above. These two have long and strong ties to Wayne Watson. Besides their public fawning approval of his administration and their parting gift of an office to him on campus they pointedly stated they would stand by their man and refused to believe the Inspector General's report on Watson in September 2015. They are the ones at fault for much of the degradation this campus has endured. What do they think they are doing? Watson is going down, so the whole campus has to go down with him? Watson is going down so we have to bring down the faculty who were such critics of him and his creature Angela Henderson? Scorched earth? Were they told by "someone" (who? other politicians? the Black Caucus?) to retire Watson because the lawsuits were getting to be too much? They do so reluctantly, but really they did not want to? It seems like it. They can't keep him as president, but they keep him on campus. Why? And of course the big question is whether they are really supporting Dr Calhoun. As for the nexus of Henderson to Watson to Young/Zollar --is it legal for administrators to have direct contact with the Board of Trustees? Not that legalities or ethics have bothered anyone here in the past.

The CSU “family” does not operate like those other "families" on t.v. and in the movies. In Godfather I, we hear different characters repeat, "it's not personal, it's business..." At CSU it is the opposite. It is personal and that is business.
Cordayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11407012136671501643noreply@blogger.com
