The conservatives, in light of the mobilization of the left in the 1960s, have made a concerted effort to not only stem the tide of radical politics but to turn back the clock to pre-New Deal United States. <br /><br />The Democrats have largely acquiesced to the right, in-turn, turning their back on labor, the middle-class, and African-Americans.
